Grace + Grain L'Elle Spoon
Local south Georgia artist Abbey Pitts crafts intentional, handmade wooden goods for your kitchen.
Abbey's description: Amy Hart of The Hare & The Hart in Thomasville, GA requested this dual-purpose spoon as a gift for her mother. The simple design proves practical as it scoops and scrapes, much like a roux spoon. When I asked Amy what she would like to name this design, she didn't miss a beat with an answer. The special family name, L'Elle, carries a tradition for 5 generations!
The original L'Elle Gardner was named after her doctor's wife as he declared her the prettiest baby he had ever delivered. L'Elle's parents had not yet chosen her name, and the doctor asked for the honor of naming her after his wife. Since then, the L'Elle name has carried on as the middle name of many of the women of her family including Amy (owner of The Hare & The Hart), Mary (Amy’s mom), Carol (Amy’s grandmother), Maddie (Amy's daughter), and Hannah (Amy's niece). What a sweet legacy Mrs. L'Elle leaves! I am honored to have been a very, very small part of this story.
Please be aware that every piece is one-of-a-kind. Wood color and grain vary beautifully piece by piece.
