Don't we all deserve a little bit of fun? How about adding it to our homes' decor so we can enjoy it on a daily basis?

Something that I have noticed about the "stiff upper lipped" British is that they do indeed like to infuse unexpected pops of joy into their rooms.

Decorating with whimsy is the third element that, to me, is essential to creating timeless English-style decor. (The first is to actually live in your rooms, and the second is to bring nature in to your interiors.)

The possibilities are endless ~ from patterned painted furniture and walls (like our painted dresser above or à la Charleston Farmhouse by the Bloomsbury Group), to bunting and other embellishments made of paper, fabric, or ribbons.

How about a fun, oversized vintage sign repurposed as wall art? Or a pretty butter dish with a clever saying? Yes, please!

We have started putting Christmas on display at the shop, and I am in LOVE with the new Liberty London garlands, Christmas crackers, and other ornamental pieces.
