Early mornings in a (very busy) small town

Early (early!!) mornings with Rugby. He likes to get us up before dawn to enjoy the backyard before the heat of the day.

It stormed last night, so in addition to the usual sounds of the train (oh the Thomasville train!) and the crickets, I am listening to the drip-drop of rain coming off the eaves and trees. The birds haven’t started yet; that will be just before dawn.

And yes, that tiny thing is a crescent moon above the house. It looks much larger in real life than in the photo!

Looking forward to another good day at the shop at The Hare & The Hart. We’ve had the Georgia Downtown Association in town all week, and it’s been fun to chat with folks from all over Georgia who love towns like ours. (I got to participate by taking Main Street 101, since I’m a newer member of our Main Street Advisory Board here. Thank you, Georgia Main Street - I learned so much!)

And all week we’ve been getting ready for the debut party for the clothing collaboration I’ve had the joy to do with Pittypat's Clothing Co. — and so many more of our Toile of FSU items. Picked up a huge order from Honey Bee Fabrications yesterday (Jenny is AMAZING!) and can’t wait to add those items to our newly expanded Toile of FSU section at the back of the shop!

Hmmm… it’s no wonder I couldn’t sleep for all the excitement! Full disclosure: I woke Rugby up this morning! 🤗

xo,
