If these walls could talk...

“They think her store was something special." ― Kathleen Kelly inYou've Got Mail

Sometimes, as shopkeepers, Hannah and I get to witness some pretty neat things. If these walls could talk, they'd tell some amazing stories (hmmmm... maybe one day I'll write a book)!

Yesterday, one such interaction really caught my attention and made me think. A delightful couple came in and shared that, as students at nearby Florida State University, it was their first time in Thomasville.

The young man kept exclaiming, "My mom would love this shop. I would never be able to get her out of here!"

He felt so strongly about it, he decided to Facetime his mother as he walked around the store, enthusiastically showing her various collections and items (see some in our Friday Favorites, below), even letting me say hello to her. So sweet!

He and his mom then made plans to come to Thomasville and The Hare & The Hart during the upcoming FSU Family Weekend.

It really touched my heart that he thought of her and acted on it. I told him so.

This got my wheels turning about something that's been on my mind lately. Brick-and-mortar businesses like our own beloved family-owned shop do rely on traditional (and newer) forms of marketing, like ads and social media.

However, the very most impactful and authentic way of spreading the word is literally that ~ by word-of-mouth.

Think about it. I don't usually go see a movie or purchase a book unless it's been recommended by a trusted friend.

The same can be true for taking the time to go into a shop you've never entered, or exploring a website that's new to you.

It takes a personal story, a human touch, a reason why.

You (yes, you!) can have a hugely positive impact on The Hare & The Hart. How, you ask?

There are some very natural (and relatively easy) things you can do today to tell others why they too would love The Hare & The Hart:

✨ Forward this email (or a previous one, like last Friday's) to a friend.

✨ On Instagram or Facebook, comment on a post and tag a few friends who would relate to it.

✨ Share our posts on social media.

✨ Write a Google review about your experience with The Hare & The Hart, whether it was in person or online. Click HERE to do so. We'd be so grateful!

✨ Talk about us when you are with others (or Facetiming them, like our young friend! 😉)

✨ Grab a friend and come for a day of shopping and dining in Thomasville. We'd love to see you and meet them!

✨ Share our upcoming workshop schedule and event schedule with friends and see if they want to come and have some fun!

I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of our community, part of our story, part of our lives.

And I would be ever-so-grateful if you invite others to join us too!

xo,
