My new favorite corner of the shop...

Have I mentioned that I adore fall?

I’m typing this letter at the shop in between customers while listening to our “Autumn in the Shop” playlist, on which Nat King Cole is currently crooning ‘Tis Autumn.

The shop door is finally (blessedly) propped open. Honestly, today is the first day in months that we can keep it open, so it truly feels like we may soon be able to truly say ‘tis autumn.

Here in the Red Hills region of south Georgia/north Florida, fall weather will tease us a little here, a little there ~ but it won't really show up until November. And this far south, we don’t get intensely vibrant foliage like in north Georgia (and above).

Therefore, about five years ago, Chris planted three twigs that had the tag “maple tree” on them. He’d ordered them in the mail, and when we opened the box, they really were just little sticks.

I was skeptical. He wasn't. He was right.

Now they tower above our second-story windows ~ and in a few weeks, they will be showing off their glorious colors.

At the shop, we "make do" while awaiting November weather by propping the door open on 80-degree days, wearing (lightweight) sweaters and jeans inside, sipping pumpkin spice lattes over ice, and watching Hannah crochet her pumpkins (which are selling like hotcakes; she’s making more!)

We've also brought in fresh fall vibes by dressing up the shop in product collections featuring gorgeous shades of sage, mustard, and burgundy (and pops of duck egg blue).

I've been promising a tour of my new favorite corner of the shop for a few weeks now (sorry!), and I'm finally ready! It's cozy and lovely, and I could hang out in it for hours.

Here it is and why I love it:

The shop has new nooks and crannies after our revamp last month, and this one is nestled where our checkout counter once stood.

Several of the beautiful items you see tucked into the shelves and on the ladder are featured in our Friday Favorites, below.

This sweet corner is part of a larger "flex space" that transforms into our workshop area on Saturdays. (Oh, and those are filling up, by the way ~ be sure to book your spot if you're thinking about it!)

And hey ~ let's talk about that fabric wall (I hope you noticed it in the photos) and my new collection that it's a part of... next week.
