No one better to kick off 2025 with: Annie Sloan (yes, THE Annie Sloan!)

{For weather history's sake, please note this was written Jan. 24, 2025}

I hope this blog post finds you warm and cozy, my friend.

First, it's been quite a week with the historic snowfall throughout the South, with up to six inches of snow in Thomasville

We've had our share of adventures, as we were in Atlanta for Annie Sloan Stockist Training at the beginning of the week and are now safely and snugly home.

Second, OH my GOODNESS! My brain is still downloading and processing: all that we learned from Annie Sloan, the great conversations with Annie, meeting her team and star painters, as well as connecting with other stockists.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of Annie's invention of Chalk Paint, so 2025 will be exciting with LOTS of news and events that we all get to participate in!

Highlights of the training included Annie's tutorial on colour theory (yes, I feel the need to spell it the way she does, as she's from one of our favorite cities: Oxford, England!) and the joy of perusing Annie's personal art journals with her.

Did you know that Annie is widely considered one of the world’s leading authorities in paint, colour, and style? In 2023, Annie was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to interior design.

We enjoyed talking to her about being bestowed the honor (only one below "dame") by Princess Anne at Windsor Castle.

Seeing Annie's inspiration, sketches, and photos of her finished work in her journals was impactful beyond words. I have recently returned to art journaling, and am so grateful for her generosity and vulnerability in sharing her process!

{Also (eek!) Annie told me she loves my Toile of Thomasville pattern, having seen it on the post about our chair collaboration with Sweet One Designs!}

Obviously, this is just a snippet about the whole time with Annie and her amazing team! We'll share more in the coming days on Instagram and Facebook.

And, needless to say, we have come back with oodles of plans for projects at the shop (and at home), as well as various workshops at The Hare & The Hart.

If you are a member of our email community, you will be the first to know about workshops and have the opportunity to sign up before we post them! If you are not yet a member, sign up HERE!
