Local Artist: Charlie Hart
These stunning depictions of fish are the result of the art of linocut printing by artist Charlie Hart.
Linocut printing is a time-honored craft, in which the maker transforms his or her sketches into carved engravings, which are then rolled with just the right amount of ink and printed onto high-quality paper.
The red drum and speckled seatrout are native to the nearby Gulf and its estuaries, where Charlie enjoys fishing at East Point and St. George Island.
Because these prints are handmade rather than mass-produced in a digital factory, no two editions are ever exactly alike, making each linocut print uniquely yours!
About the artist:
Whether it’s scaling mountains, biking the St. Marks trail, or creating new worlds in his drawings, Charlie truly is a jack of all trades. By day he’s doing good things at Native Nurseries in Tallahassee, and on weekends he’s pursuing new heights by fishing in the Gulf and rock climbing all over the Southeastern US, which in turn inspires his art.
