The Tuckered Elephant Bags

These totes are made locally by Sarah Smallridge of The Tuckered Elephant out of authentic antique European grain sacks dating back to the early 1900s.

Each vintage grain sack was handwoven with distinct stripe patterns identifying which family and or village the grain belonged to when transported to market or to the mill to be processed. Sarah makes each one even more unique by carefully selecting beautiful fabrics for the lining.

Sarah started the Tuckered Elephant in Tallahassee, Florida when she was pregnant with her son, Tucker, using her creativity to add personal touches to his nursery. Over the years, The Tuckered Elephant has grown into a family-owned business encompassing many creative outlets, including the beautiful totes carried in our shop.
