Living Beautifully in the Red Hills

I am blessed with a wonderful mom who, as I grew up, always made every house we lived in feel like home, no matter where we were: Spain, Virginia, New Mexico, Washington, Arizona, Florida…. I was an Air Force brat; can you tell? And now, she and my dad live here in Thomasville, and I am extra blessed to see (and hug) her often.

As you know, Chris and I love to Travel. And when we are close enough to our destination to make it a road trip, we prefer to dirve (and the roads we prefer to drive on do not involve the interstate!) Even if it takes an extra hour or two to take the route that "avoids highways"...

I savor this time of year, don't you? When cool days make for cozy cooking ~ and the warmth of the oven is a welcome guest as savory scents waft throughout the house.

What with starting the year a bit under the weather, it's been a slower start than usual, but to be honest, I kind of like the slowing down after the rush of the holidays and easing into the new year.

Chris and I are torturing ourselves by watching the latest season of All Creatures Great and Small as the episodes drop each week on PBS. Oh my goodness, the good old-fashioned WAITING!
